What struck me as I read that a 6.2 earthquake had occurred in Indonesia, and as I viewed images of the destruction, is that we’re more like those fragile structures than we should be.
All that debris, all those lives lost beneath the rubble of structures that—and I mean no offense—wouldn’t pass construction codes here. I include that comment because it led me to recall this Scripture from Yeshua/Jesus: “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise, and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person
who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” – Matthew 7:24-27 NLT
Not a mild or moderate crash—a mighty crash. Let’s face it: Some of what we’ve always relied on, things we’ve believed were etched in stone or built on firm foundations, so to speak, seem to be crumbling beneath us—not because they’re false, but because there are those bent on demolition of truths established by God—Who is Truth. These days, every day, we find ourselves praying we’re on solid ground only to watch it be attacked, causing us to
wonder what will be left and where it is safe to stand or to walk in this world. A pastor said, “Don’t look at the world then go to the Bible; go to the Bible, and then look at the world.”
Some of us know exactly what we’re witnessing—and it shakes us. But we’re to stand firm. Read Ephesians 6 and see how often we’re told to stand firm, especially for such a time as this.
We who look to Almighty God, our Father and Creator, and His Son, Yeshua/Jesus, our Lord and Savior, are shaken because we’ve allowed politics, political figures, media, and people and things of this world, to affect our trust in and our Covenant walk with God. He tells us repeatedly throughout the Old and New Testaments that how we walk out His Kingdom ways matters (Look up Revelation 22:14; please believe He means what He says). Instead, we spend more time watching news or arguing on social sites than in His Word and on our knees. (FYI: Some of those we argue with on social sites are A.I., not actual humans. I thought you might appreciate the heads-up about that.)
The morning of Tuesday, January 19, 2021, a podcast and a video from a can-be-trusted preacher, showed up in my inbox. My day was busier than usual, so I planned to get into them the next day. Around 9:30 p.m., I started to turn off my computer and go have a chat with God, as it was Inauguration eve, and felt Spirit nudge me to listen to the podcast. Had I obeyed that loving tap, it would have saved me some emotional turmoil as well as some repentance for thoughts and mutterings the morning of January 20.
If you have similar emotions happening these days and crave inspiration and reassurance, here are the descriptions and links for the podcast and video. Both say what I needed to hear and hold on to going forward. Perhaps it’s the same for you. May God keep us strong and in His peace that surpasses all understanding. the edge of spot judgment. More and more corrupt individuals are being revealed by the day. At the same time, more Americans and Christians are in grief over the evil taking hold of this nation. We are at an Ezek. 9:3-5 moment in history. It is time to check our hearts and see if we are truly like those that God marked for protection during His judgment in Ezekiel’s day.

[VIDEO] TRUTH, LIGHT, DARKNESS, AND JUDGMENT: The Word of God commands us to “prove (or test) all things.” In a season of disinformation, this command is more important than ever. We also discover from the Word that truth, deception, light, and darkness always follow the same prophetic patterns. It is time for the Body of Messiah to learn to move in discernment and discretion in the days ahead.http://kingdomintelligencebriefing.com/truth-light-darkness-and-judgment-biblical-life-tv-understanding-the-kingdom-series-utk83/

Such a timely article. In these days of multitudes of messages concerning current and possible future events coming at us from every direction, and so many of them confusing and contradicting each other, what are we to believe? Believe the Word of God. Pray for discernment regarding everything you read, see and hear. Only the Word of God is totally reliable, and never misleading.
Thank you for this reminder, Joyce Shafer.
